How do elections work?

Each candidate will give a 5 minute speech and have up to 10 minutes for Q&A from the Senate

This can be extended if motioned by the Senate, however, it must be equally extended for each candidate running for the same role

Following the final candidate’s Q&A, Senate will enter Executive Session to debate candidacy. This is only open to those on the Senate roster.

Slides

Candidate slides are due to the Speaker of the Senate 48 hours before your election (Saturday 6:30pm)

You may submit a slide even if you are “running off the floor” (being verbally nominated day of election)

Note: Only voting members of Senate can automatically ask questions, however, you can attend and request a Senate member to yield speaking time to you or ask a question on your behalf
