MEETING RECAP

  • Last Monday, Senate held a Full Body Senate! 

  • You can view the leadership addresses here.  

  • We nominated the candidates for this year's Student Body Elections. Congratulations to the nominees! 

  • Congratulations to all our authors! This week we voted and passed 4 pieces of legislation: 

    • RG-SP-24-101 (SIB Restructure) passed. The Student Involvement division is now 3 boards and 1 committee! 

    • RG-SP-24-102 (Global Engagement Committee) passed.

    • RG-SP-24-104 (SAF Manual) passed. Annual Budgets went out last night! 

    • IR-SP-24-103 (Expedited Process for IR/ RGs) passed. 

  • We also had new legislation and a memo presented:

    • Senator Elections Memo was presented. We will be hosting focus groups about this at our next Senate so please review and come prepared. 

    • IR-SP-24-105 (Engagement hours) was presented. Please reach out the the author with any questions. 

  • We heard the referenda for this year's direct elections ballot!

 SGA ANNOUNCEMENTS 

  • Annual Budgets: A message for all undergraduate organizations that annual budgets are now live on engage. Budgets are due at midnight on March 26th. There is also a NEW manual! Please find al information on the finance board website: http://neufinanceboard.com

  • STEP (New Senator Training) is complete. If you missed one or both STEP sessions you will be contacted by Speaker Donoghue shortly regarding a makeup.  

    • Makeups will be offered on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 pm and Friday from 12:00- 2:00 pm! In the SGA Office (Curry 332). 

    • Please contact Speaker Donoghue if these times do not work for you and you need an alternative slot! 

  • SGA Student Involvement is still recruiting! Apply here 

  • All members of SGA please complete the internal communications survey here for the operations team!

  • The week of March 11th is Wellness Week! We are organizing three tabling events, one on Monday for Wellness Week Kickoff, and two on Tuesday, giving out covid tests and harm reduction items. Please sign up using this spreadsheet, we need as many helping hands as possible!

CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENTS 

  • "Living Off Campus Workshops" are being hosted by Off Campus Engagement and Support. Registration and more information can be found here.

    • The workshop will be held on February 28th, 11am-12pm ET via Zoom

  • Submit any feedback or complaints about student organizations to this Student Involvement complaint form here   

  • Husky Hunt Planning Committee: If you’re interested in joining the 2024 Husky Hunt Planning Committee, RSA is hosting an interest meeting this Thursday, Feb 29, @ 6 PM in Richards 300—snacks included. They will be giving a breakdown of the Committee and how to apply. If you plan to attend, please fill out this RSVP form here. However, if you cannot make it, please indicate that on the form and they will send you the information after the meeting.  

UPCOMING MEETINGS 

  • There will be NO SENATE next week. Have a great spring break! 

  • The next Senate meeting will be MARCH 11th at 6:30 pm in Curry 333. This is a Working Senate where we will have focus groups for Senator Elections Memo. Please come prepared with comments and questions.

    • The Senate calendar can be accessed here. Please reach out to Speaker Donoghue (Sgasenatespeaker@northeastern.edu) if you would like to see anything added to the Senate calendar. This includes but is not limited to, legislation, events, and guest speakers!
